Positano is a fishing town that is on the Amalfi Coast, Italy. Behind a long beach the buildings of Positano seem to be stacked on top of each other as they climb vertically up the high cliff face of the Amalfi coast. Somehow a road snakes down between the houses from the vineyards and lemon groves that disappear high above into the coastal mountains. Positano has been resort for the jet set and celebrities for a long time with smart hotels and beach side restaurants and bars where the likes of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards ,from The Rolling Stones, wrote the song "Midnight Rambler".
Positano has also been used as a film set in Only You (1994), and Under the Tuscan Sun (2003) as well as being the setting for the romantic adventure novel, "Finding Positano, A Love Story" (2010), by William James.
Positano is a romantic resort where time seems to have stood still. The Amalfi coast has a laid back atmosphere and the high mountains seem to be a barrier against the outside world. The sun ripens lemons in the lemon groves on the terraced slopes that is made into limoncello, which is sipped whist watching the sun dip into a sparkling azure sea. No wonder Positano is a hideaway destination for the great and the good.
